Overview
The cheapest car policy is not always the best one. The review should consider vehicle value, leasing, everyday use, foreign travel, deductibles and add-ons. The aim is to avoid both unnecessary coverage and apparent savings that become expensive after a claim.
What I check
- Mandatory liability and limits
- Partial or full casco based on vehicle value
- Deductibles, bonus and bonus protection
- Roadside assistance Switzerland/Europe and replacement car
- Offer comparison for leased or owned cars
When it is useful
- You received an offer and are not sure it is complete
- Your car is leased or relatively new
- You want to know whether full casco still makes sense
- You often drive abroad
- You want to avoid duplicate assistance coverage
Useful documents to prepare
- Vehicle registration document
- Current policy or offer
- Leasing contract if relevant
- Estimated annual mileage
- Recent claims or current bonus level
When changing may not be necessary
If the premium is fair, the vehicle is properly covered and deductibles match your budget, confirmation may be enough without changing insurer.
